The Scarab 215 HO was not just developed. It was designed. To turn heads on the water and become an industry leader in the use of technology and the way the boat is manufactured. Notice the shape and design of the u-shaped seating: the corners seem to be notched instead of the standard rounded corners that you see on other boats. Also built into the back of the u-shaped seating is a movable piece that can be used to access the swim platform, as an arm rest, or for additional seating. There is more than ample storage under the rear seats. Both the port and starboard side are fiberglass lined. Storage of this magnitude is not normally seen on a boat this size. Scarab’s exclusive versa-lounge stern seating is a gateway to maximum enjoyment on the water. Being one of the only jet boats on the market that has a sun pad (by converting the seats) the enjoyment opportunities are endless. Another unique feature of the platform is how close to the water it is. It is literally inches and provides ample room for someone to put on a wake board or get on a tube.
The bow of the boat is no different from the stern offering plush seating, ample cup holders, and grab rails. Storage immediately under the seats is abundant and easy to access.
The low profile dash is laid out more like a sports car than a typical boat dash. Using the most up to date technology the GPS cluster not only does it provide you with your speed, but information about the engine, rpms, and other important data. The site lines provide superior visibility and the dash is coated with an anti-glare. Adjacent to the dash are lighted aircraft-style rocker switches. Adorning the starboard side is a Drive-by-Wire shifter that is ergonomically designed for maximum comfort. Completing the helm package is an adjustable steering wheel that gives you the feel of a performance sports car and the sporty windshield supported by an aluminum frame.
The engine compartment is completely gel coat finished and home to two glorious BRP Rotax Supercharged 200hp engines. The proven technology of the Rotax engine delivers more torque, quicker acceleration and an amazing hole shot. During my test run on Lake Michigan, the 215 had a 3.5 second hole shot and reached a top speed of 52.5 mph at 5,800 rpms. Even though this is a jet boat, the design of the hull and concealed jets did not hinder the control and stability of the boat. The 215 carved the water effortlessly and handled the two foot chop without hesitation.
