Ford’s mid-size pickup makes a triumphant return.

Overview

The Ford Ranger makes a triumphant return for 2019 – a midsize pickup engineered Built Ford Tough, packed with driver-assist technologies to enable easier driving both on and off-road. Anchored by a high-strength steel frame and powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® paired to an efficient 10-speed automatic, the all-new Ranger is available in either SuperCab or SuperCrew configuration. It can be optioned with 4×2 or 4×4, and comes in three trim levels – XL, XLT and Lariat. Chrome and Sport Appearance Packages are available.

The adventure-ready 2019 Ford Ranger is the most fuel-efficient gas-powered midsize pickup in North America – providing a superior EPA-estimated city fuel economy rating and an unsurpassed EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating versus the competition. The all-new Ranger has earned EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined for 4×2 trucks.

Powertrain

Short overhangs and an 8” clearance provide for excellent off-road fun.

Along with 270 horsepower, Ranger’s standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine produces 310 lb.-ft. of torque, delivering the most torque of any gas engine in the midsize pickup segment. The Ranger will have auto Start-Stop technology and Electronic shift-on-the-fly (4×4) 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. When paired with this class-exclusive 10-speed transmission, Ranger boasts a unique combination of efficiency, power and capability that only comes from Ford. Thanks in part to a high-strength steel frame and robust solid rear axle with Hotchkiss suspension, when properly equipped, the all-new Ranger can conventionally tow more than any gas engine truck in its class – 7,500 pounds when equipped with the tow package and a trailer brake controller, and best-in-class 1,860 pounds of maximum payload to handle all your gear.

This isn’t your base-model little pickup from the past.  Technology comes built-in to the new Ranger, starting with an 8-inch touch screen for available SYNC® 3, while a single or dual LCD productivity screen is available for real-time vehicle, navigation and audio information. Ranger has standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. A Lane-Keeping System that includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, reverse sensing and class-exclusive Blind Spot Information System with trailer coverage, and an all-new Terrain Management System™ with Trail Control™ and standard FordPass Connect™ with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot supporting up to 10 devices. Adaptive Cruise Control is standard on the XLT and Lariat.

Taking boats to the slip or ATVs to the dunes is easier with Ford Ranger’s class-exclusive Blind Spot Information System with trailer coverage. After hooking up a trailer, radar housed in Ranger’s taillights monitors blind spots all the way to the back of the trailer. The system keeps drivers informed of the presence of a vehicle in the truck’s blind spots until that vehicle passes. Ranger can store up to three trailer profiles, including a trailer’s length, to let the radar system know how far back to provide warnings when another vehicle is traveling next to the trailer. Ranger’s advanced Blind Spot Information System can tell the driver when vehicles are in the truck’s blind spot when a trailer is not attached as well. And thanks to its cross-traffic alert technology, the system can warn drivers of an oncoming vehicle when they are backing out of a parking spot. Blind Spot Information System is standard on the XLT and Lariat models.

The all-new Ranger interior features twin front bucket seats, an 8” touch screen, and the Blind-Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage.

Ranger’s muscular body features a high beltline, while a raked grille and windshield lend an athletic appearance and aid in aerodynamics and reduced wind noise. Short overhangs mean better approach and departure angles off-road. Available FX4 Off-Road Package features off-road-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, frame-mounted heavy-gauge steel front bash plate and skid plates, rear locking differential, innovative Terrain Management System™ with four distinct drive modes and Trail Control™. Ranger makes for a great piece of off-road gear, but it also gets work done on the pavement. Its’ rugged steel bumper with available integrated trailer hitch receiver means towing boats, campers, ATVs or personal watercraft is a breeze.

New colors include Shadow Black, Oxford White, Ingot Silver, Magnetic, Blue Lightning, Saber, Hot Pepper Red, and White Platinum Tri-Coat.

Ranger comes with a 3 year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and a 5 year/unlimited miles aluminum body panels and paint adhesion warranty.

Ranger production is based at the Michigan Assembly Plant.
