Boat Test #1718
By: PBC Team
Velocity has been building powerboats since the 1970s and have proven several times through the various offshore races and punishment they put them through with the many winnings that that they have a quality boat. Today, it’s a whole new manufacturing plant as Scott McCormick, the driving force took over the company in 2018. Some of his main achievements were making his own redesign and putting even more strength into the hulls and instilling confidence that Velocity builds high quality boats in both fit and finish. Velocity has several boat championships under their belt with their proven design over the years. Scott comes with a winning racing background, as he continues to modify the hulls to cut through the waters faster and more comfortably and it all happens because of his race experience.
In the center console line, the 262CC brings the best in luxury, fishing, and performance since it can take on the roughest of waters while keeping passengers dry and comfortable. What I really noticed on the 262CC is that it’s so fun to drive especially when I pegged the throttle down to the dash, and I still felt safe with super handling and very little rock as I cut through the water. Also, it makes a great fishing boat with two Bait Wells, a large fish box integrated into the floor, Gemlux Rod holders and of course a RTIC Ice Chest. The family will enjoy this Velocity with the Wet Sounds Stereo w/4 Speakers & Amp and Console Multi Colour led Lights.
The helm is equipped with full Hydraulic Steering with Power Assist and a Gemlux stainless steel steering wheel, as well as Gemlux SS Hardware, Mercury 9” Vessel View, and a handy depth finder. There are several options when you get ready to buy, with Mercury supplying either a Single Mercury 300 HP or 400 HP Verado but if you’re really looking for thrust pinning you to the seat you can always opt for the twin 250 HP or 300 HP Verados.
