The new 39DX dual console from Fountain Powerboats is a versatile offering that departs from the company’s traditional lineup. Fountain’s 39DX (39’ LOA, 11’ 3” beam) has a custom hardtop with a sliding sunroof and a full wrap-around windshield with tilt-out side vents.
Fountain offers optional L-shape seating to port with either storage cabinets or tackle storage behind it. The starboard galley comes with a sink, drawer fridge, grill, trash bin and stowage. On the transom, buyers can opt for either a baitwell station or bench seating. A starboard dive door with boarding ladder is standard on the 39DX.
The windshield opens in the centre to provide access to the bow, which has full wraparound seating with a cocktail table and an optional sun pad filler cushion. Fountain took a clean approach to the dash with a pair of multifunction displays and the throttle-shifter along with joystick steering in a console on the gunwale.
Down below, Fountain provides a seating that converts to a 78-inch bunk with a filler cushion. The head compartment comes with a Raritan Marine Elegance toilet, sink and additional stowage. A cabinet with a microwave and storage is to port.
The 39 DX will come standard with CZone digital switch, which allows for dual air-conditioning systems, and buyers can get a generator or run the system on batteries for up to eight hours. Fountain offers as option a night vision camera and a Seakeeper boat stabilizer.
Jeff Harris, chief operating officer for Fountain, said the 39 DX dual console will appeal to a new group of boaters for the company.
“We have a lot of customers just here in the Carolinas where they boat year-round, they live on the water, they have a boat on lift,” Harris said. “That’s not something you can do year-round with a center console. Dual consoles are very popular in coastal areas, especially where the temperature is going to be cooler. The model is expected to be in full production starting in 2023.
