Princecraft’s 172 Max

Fully equipped with every feature that you could want is packed into this model. The 172 Max comes with a lot of features that are standard on this unit but are options on the competitors. Some of those standard features include bow cushions, tilt helm and stereo with two speakers. Trailer, trailer cover and bimini also come standard on the 172 Max. As you can see, Princecraft makes sure that the buying process is simple and easy when you are at your local dealer.

In the bow of the boat, you will find a completely carpeted area on the floor and up the gunnels. There are two large in floor storage boxes on either side of the pedestal mount. Just behind the mount is an additional compartment for storage or your trolling motor battery.

Both dashes are black and have a black framed walk-through windshield. The passenger side dash has a lockable glove box. The driver’s side dash panel has a nicely equipped gauge cluster with fuel, tachometer, speedometer and trim and tilt. Immediately to the right of the steering wheel are the lighted aircraft style accessory switches for your bilge pump, live well and more. Both dashes have open space underneath that is perfect for tackle boxes or duffle bags.

The seating on the 172 creates a large cockpit and spacious area to move about. There are two removable fold down casting chairs for the captain and first mate. The two seats to the aft have fold down back rests for easy access to the aft. Need additional space or a larger casting platform? Pull the bench forward and it folds down to create a more spacious fishing platform.

There is lockable storage compartments on the port side of the cockpit and open storage on the starboard side gunnel. The lockable in-floor storage can accommodate up to four of your favourite rods and reels. There is additional storage on the transom casting platform, along with a built in live well.

Another nice thing that Princecraft does is install all the snaps for the full enclosures whether you order them or not. Down the road if you want to order the canvas package, all you must do is contact your selling dealer and the installation is seamless and effortless.

Powered by the Mercury 115 Pro XS, this all-around family fishing boat will get up and go. The reverse chimes hull design helps the boat quickly get out of the hole and bite into the turns. She is very responsive going over wakes or making S-turns as needed. Using the standard removable ski pylon for tubing or other water sports, the 172 can carve the waves and packs a nice punch at the top end. When it’s time to call it a day, the standard three-step stainless-steel boarding ladder on the starboard side makes getting out of the water effortless.

If you are looking for a well-equipped, easy to tow, fishing and family fun boat, the 172 needs to be at the top of your list. Princecraft put the MAX in Max value and there is no other reason to look anywhere else once you step on board this boat. The price on this boat with a trailer is going to be tough to beat.
