As the calendar rounds the end of September, and the month of October begins, in the boating industry that typically marks the end of one season, and the beginning of the next season.

The first big boat show of the new season for many is the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held every year in the “yachting capital of the world”.

This year’s show is the 59th annual event and offers some impressive statistics:

  • 7 locations: Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina, The Sails Marina, Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six

  • 6 miles of floating docks
  • 1500+ boats on display
  • 1200+ exhibitors
  • 52 countries represented
  • 110,000 visitors from around the world
