A sporty cruiser.
By Captain Christopher Kourtakis
Starcraft continues to be one of the best values on the water today. The Limited 1915 OB is no exception. Sporty, functional, and economically priced, the 1915 is the perfect day boat for any family.
Starcraft always does an amazing job with their layouts and the 1915 is no exception. The large wrap around seating in the bow area can accommodate up to 4-6 adults comfortably. The stainless-steel rails provide styling and safety as needed.
The walkthrough to the bow swim platform is unobstructed and provides easy accessibility to the anchor and forward swim ladder.
The back rear bench has a nice high back and can comfortably seat 2-3 adults. The walkthrough on the port side allows for easy access to the stern recessed swim ladder and the water. There is even a safety gate to keep smaller children from wandering aft.
Starcraft has thought of everything, including building in cooler storage under the port side seating that is easy to access.
The helm is ergonomically designed with a nice cut out for the captain’s legs and feet to fit into. The tilt helm allows for easy in and out access. The large gauges are easy to view while the lighted rocker switches can be quickly accessed to either side of the steering wheel. Just forward of the helm is a fiberglass integrated sink with pump faucet. Completing the helm area is the stainless steel bimini top that adds protection from the sun when needed. It is easy for one person to deploy and retract the bimini.
The optional snap in cockpit carpet makes clean up a snap, literally. The lighted cup holders and mood lighting enhance the elegance in the evening hours as the sunsets.
The tri tone seating is easy on the eyes and adds a touch of elegant style to the overall look of the boat. Starcrafts two color hull (9 colors to choose from) also adds to the sleek sportiness of the look and feel of the boat.
A couple more must have options include the upgraded stereo, underwater lights, bow filler cushion and wake board tower.
Rated up to a 200 HP outboard, the 1915 will get up and go. With top speeds in the mid 60’s and time to plane under 4.0 seconds, the 1915 will get up and go. The handling and performance of the hull is what you have come to expect with Starcraft’s deck boats. The boat corners well, handles small chop effortlessly, and is perfect for watersports or zipping around the lake.
Starcraft is an exceptional company as they do things right. They know how to build quality boats at an affordable price. Additionally, their lifetime hull warranty is one of the best in the industry.
The 1915 is no exception and should be on every shopping list if you are in the market for a trailerable deck boat.
