Brunswick Corp. will display a new electric engine at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The Avator 48-volt outboard motor is the first of its kind from Mercury to be sold to consumers.
Mercury has designed this outboard to mount with ease, be very portable, and start with just the push of a button. The Avator is equipped with advanced technology to monitor your battery level and range so you can explore the waters with confidence and ease. Perhaps one of the biggest benefits of an electric motor is how quiet they can be, allowing riders to fully embrace their surroundings. The new engines are made partially from recycled materials and of course have no exhaust or emissions. The battery can be charged by standard household outlets and buyers also have the option to purchase a faster charger for convenience. This outboard also features a full-colour display and can connect to your phone via the Mercury Marine App.
The Navico Group’s lithium-ion Fathom e-power system will also be featured by the company. The system was designed to take the place of conventional generators.
Brunswick is hoping to showcase their products and technologies to a wide range of industries besides their own at CES. The company also plans to present its newly designed boat that will feature the Avator electric motor. A 140-degree helm experience will be set up in the Las Vegas Convention Center for consumers to interact with as well.
Brunswick’s innovative and award-winning V-12 Mercury Verado, 600-hp outboard engine will also be shown on the Sea Ray Sundancer 370.
The Consumer Electronics Show will take place Jan. 5-8.
