After speaking with Dave Bonar, owner of Yacht Sales West in Vancouver, and Patrick Picard, President of Mathias Marine Sports in Quebec, I can see why they are so passionate about the all-new Bavaria SR36. The SR36 was premiered to the world in 2022 and has never looked back. This sporty yet elegant yacht is the perfect combination of performance and luxury wrapped into one.
As you enter the main salon, you can see where Bavaria left no detail untouched. The compact refreshment centre to the starboard has a full line of amenities. Just forward of the galley is the helm station. The dinette to the immediate port has very detailed and plush upholstery. The large wood table stands out with the stainless-steel accents. Just in front of the dinette is a single person lounger that faces forward. The large fully panoramic 360° view is breathtaking through the full-length windshield and oversized windows that adorn either side of the space. I absolutely love the retracting hard top that allows additional sun light in.
Bavaria did a fabulous job of blending the salon and cockpit together. The outside cockpit area has a rear facing U-shaped dinette that is unique and sets itself apart from other yachts in this size range. The design creates a free-flowing access to the swim platform and is perfect for when anchored or at the dock. The seating area has a large retractable table that helps the seating area turn into an enormous sun pad.
The helm on the SR36 gives you the feel of driving a German sports car. The dual multi-function displays are perfectly designed into the dash panel and allow the area to flow effortlessly. The throttles are flush mounted to the right at the perfect height. Just behind the controls is the joystick docking. Just forward are the bow thruster and trim tab controls.
As you head downstairs you can’t but help notice the gorgeous Euro styling throughout the cabin. The forward v-berth is spacious and airy. The aft stateroom stretches from hull to hull and has large windows on either side providing natural light into the space.
