Luxury redefined.
Boat Test #1493
As the Flagship of Marquis’ impressive line-up of luxury Motor Yachts, the 720 Fly offers breathtaking looks, both inside and out. Large side decks lead up to the spacious bow where you’ll find a large sunpad, ample deck space, a forward locker for the optional forward shore power connections, and large gull-wing lockers for fender and line storage.
Back aft, two sets of stairways lead up from the hydraulically-actuated boarding platform. to the cockpit where you’ll find a bench seat across the transom for six adults. Back aft, you’ll also find a crew cabin with a single or double berth configuration available.
A stairway off to port leads to the enormous Command Bridge, where you’ll find enough room to entertain a large crowd. A large u-shaped lounge is off to starboard, which can accommodate eight adults and is fitted with a wood and acrylic table with a highly polished stainless-steel frame. Off to port, you’ll find the wet-bar complete with translucent solid-surface countertop with underlighting, stainless steel footrail, and plenty of storage.
The upper helm is located off to starboard. An exceptionally comfortable Captain’s chair has a full array of adjustments, and two matching chairs are available for guests or crew.
Heading into the main salon through the expansive salon door, this rich and inviting area features a Calia Italia handmade white leather sofa and matching chairs, which is set upon hand laid Brazilian Cherry wood plank flooring.
The galley is nestled between the salon and lower Pilothouse (the Pilothouse is a must have option, in my opinion), and buyers have the option of a full-size French door, bottom freezer unit by Jenn-Air, or separate under counter refrigerator / freezer units by Subzero. Counter space and storage seems adequate and adjacent to the main serving counter, you’ll find a dining table with comfortable seating for six to eight guests.
The pilothouse features a single 6-way adjustable Ultraleather Captains chair, and a lounge area off to port can accommodate four guests, again allowing the Captain to actively socialize with on-board guests.
Of the 720’s three (possibly four) dedicated staterooms, the Master is the most lavish and takes full advantage of the 18’ 1” beam. A Californian King-sized bed awaits the owners, and the upholstered leather headboard is matched by surrounding bolsters. The raised berth also features extensive storage beneath. The master head features marble floors and countertops that reflect the interior colour scheme, and the shower itself is spacious enough for two! A dual master head configuration is also available.
The VIP stateroom forward features an island queen berth, and the guest stateroom to port features two single berths. Both are fitted with their own en-suite heads, and while not as spacious, there is no lack of luxurious styling and features.
When it comes to construction, Marquis hulls utilizes “U.S. Navy style” methods with hull and deck plate forming an integrated structural element, known as “box-beamed.”
A variety of propulsion packages are available from both Caterpillar and MAN, ranging in horsepower from 1400 hp to 1650 hp. Depending on what power option is chosen, cruising speed can be expected to range from the low to mid 20’s (knots), and a top end speed towards the upper 20’s.
