The all-new-for-2020 Bavaria SR41 is the first of a new model line for the German yacht manufacturer combining the best of their sporty S-line and the luxury of their R-line. Designed with the input of Marco Casali from Too Design in Italy, the main attraction and notable feature of the SR41 is the convertible aft entertaining area.
Stepping aboard the swim platform, you’ll walk into the cockpit at the same level, no step up for what really now is a truly one-piece entertaining space, where you can move around both sides of the unique sun lounge. As a sunpad it’s massive. Remove the middle cushion and a nearly square lowered table pops up to create an equally large u-shaped dining space – one that faces the stern to watch the view or the kids playing in the water. Flip the seat backrests to aft, and the sun lounge becomes additional seating for the cockpit table.
Stepping into the cabin space, you’ll find a galley to port with a 360 degree view all around and a second dinette when you need to escape the sun or rain. The main owners’ cabin features an ensuite head with a queen berth with the headboard to the starboard side, and plenty of light from the generous in-hull windows. The forward queen guest cabin shares the day head.
On deck, up forward you’ll find a large almost perfectly level sunpad and interestingly you can chose your SR41 in a soft top, hard top or coupe version.
Performance is provided by the standard Mercruiser twin 355hp gasoline engines, or upgrade to twin D6 -380 second generation diesel engines from Volvo Penta. At roughly forty feet in length and twenty thousand pounds, I would expect top speeds in the low 40’s.
The SR41 will enjoy her world premier boot in Dusseldorf from January 18 – 26, 2020. Watch for a North American debut in spring 2020.
