Bennington Marine has been manufacturing top quality pontoon boats in their Elkhart, Indiana plant for decades. Recently purchased by Polaris Industries, Bennington is the largest pontoon boat manufacturer in North America. The company offers five different model lines from ultra-luxury to ultimate-value.

Their 23 SSBXP model is centred around what the company calls their swingback seat design. This versatile layout allows a convertible seating arrangement in the aft section of the pontoon. Swing the double-wide seatback forward towards the bow to create a very large rear-facing sun lounge for two, or swing the seatback aft and create a fairly traditional l-shaped lounge opposite the helm seat.

Speaking of the helm, Bennington offers a high back captain’s chair with armrests that is simply luxurious to sit in behind a composite glass console. The forward half of these twenty-three feet is dedicated to two forward loungers, and affront gate opens to a foredeck that is a useable width for docking, casting or swimming.

With the SPS Performance Package buyers get 3 full-length 25” diameter pontoons, lifting strakes on the center pontoon, performance foils on the inside of the outer pontoons, solid round keels, under deck wave shield, and SeaStar hydraulic steering.
