With more exhibitors and boats than ever, 20th Anniversary of the Biograd Boat Show in Croatia broke all attendance records for the first 3 days under sunny skies and t-shirt weather. Some Sunday morning rain lead to slightly lower attendance, but Central Europe’s In-water Show broke another total attendance record with 16,876 registered visitors.
With well over 300 registered exhibitors and more than 300 new vessels plus brokerage, the show’s exhibits were better than ever. This year there was a noticeable increase in luxury motor vessels, with dealers reporting strong activity, and the Absolute dealer for the region reporting multiple vessels sales at the show. This is Central Europe’s in-water show and the biggest meeting point for Croatia’s nautical industry, marking the end of the boating season and the start of a new business year.
The Biograd B2B business networking event recorder more than 400 registered participants, while the Congress Program was the best ever. There was a record 8 corporate sponsored parties during the evenings in the north and west marina, as well as on our 36m Event ship Nada. Our legendary evening entertainment program continued to shine with six live music events as well as our extensive fireworks display.
The show continues to gain international popularity among both exhibitors and visitors due to the Croatia’s importance as a boating destination, and Ilirija’s well managed facilities including Marina Kornati, Ilirija hotels, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. Favorable pricing for all adds to the leisurely atmosphere, while a pontoon bridge links the main marina with Marina Kornati West, offering a unique and attractive in-water exhibition. Ilirija has worked hard to accommodate as many wait-listed exhibitors as possible to provide a better visitor experience.
The “Boat Show Experience”
Sunset marks the end of the exhibition day and the beginning of an on-site evening program offering great food and live entertainment each night, continuing into the town center until the late hours. It is the many side events that take place in this intimate, pedestrian friendly, seaside town that creates the unique BBS Experience. This is the key to the show’s success, visible in the eyes of the locals as well as many affluent visitors from Central Europe that make a holiday of the event.
Central Europe‘s Gateway to the Sea
The event attracts more visitors and exhibitors from neighboring countries each year. Many people are introduced to the show while visiting Biograd throughout the year, as it is one of the largest yacht charter destinations in the world, or through its world class calendar of regattas and events, or as one of busiest marine transit destinations in Croatia.
