Canadian Power and Sail Squadron hosted their Annual General Meeting and Conference in beautiful Trois-Rivières, Quebec from October 23-26, nestled next to the St. Lawrence River. Trois-Rivières is also the site of the organization’s first Francophone Squadron in Canada, which celebrated their 60th Anniversary.

This was the first in-person gathering since Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons / Escadrilles canadiennes de plaisance announced their new brand name, CanBoat / NautiSavoir on May 15. The brand now features a new logo with a red maple leaf and a blue wave symbolic of the boating lifestyle on our rivers, lakes, and oceans.

The not-for-profit Canadian organization has been providing excellent education for recreational boaters for over 85 years. They offer courses and seminars for water enthusiasts who want to improve their on-water knowledge and safety.

Over 150 delegates and volunteers from across Canada attended the Annual General Meeting and Conference, including friends and guests from America’s Boating Club (USPS), Canadian Safe Boating Council, NASBLA , the Canadian Navy, Pilotes St-Laurent Central, Salus Marine Wear, and ICOM Canada.

Meetings were rich in exchanges, conversations, boating course project designs and commitment on the part of the volunteers involved for the renewal of the organization under the new name of CanBoat / NautiSavoir.

But it wasn’t all work at the event.

A License to Chill – 007 theme night delighted guests on the Friday night. Attendees embraced the iconic theme, donning sleek suits, elegant dresses, and Bond-inspired accessories, adding a glamorous touch to the occasion.

Local tours allowed guests to explore Trois-Rivières. On Saturday a new Board of Directors was elected, and many well-deserved volunteers were celebrated and presented awards.

The Conference wrapped up with a formal Gala Dinner. Guests were entertained by keynote speaker and Brand Ambassador, Steven Bull, from Water Ways TV and the Canadian Navy stage band.
