Dometic is making waves in marine climate control with the launch of its 2025 air conditioning systems.

These newly developed advanced refrigerants with significantly lower Global-Warming-Potential (GWP) dramatically reduce environmental impact while meeting strict global regulations.

Introducing R-454B and R-32 Refrigerant Technologies

R-454B Refrigerant: The R-454B gas delivers a 78% reduction in GWP compared to the commonly used F-Gas R-410A, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of marine air conditioning applications.

R-32 Refrigerant: For specific A/C applications, Dometic is transitioning to R-32 technology, which offers a 68% reduction in GWP versus R-410A. This transition contributes to reducing the overall environmental footprint of its systems while maintaining high cooling efficiency.

“These moves clearly demonstrate a company-wide commitment to build and support the best solutions for the industry while meeting global sustainability goals,” said Eric Fetchko, Dometic Marine Segment President.

“Dometic will continue to work closely with organizations such as NMMA and ABYC to develop safe, sustainable solutions.”

Fetchko also adds that their latest efforts in sustainable marine technology serve to make Dometic’s climate control systems one of the most “energy-efficient, and low-emissions products on the market.”

This aligns with the broader legal and societal shift toward eliminating technologies with a high environmental impact.
