Now under the ownership of Iconic Marine, a builder of center consoles and high-performance boats, NauticStar Boats has launched the fishing-friendly 22 XS. The 22 XS (21’ 3” LOA, 8’ 6” beam) comes with 30-gallon fish boxes to port and starboard with recirculation pumps. NauticStar also includes a 19-gallon aft livewell that is pressurized.
Additional fishing amenities include a rod management system, a cutting board and a 72-gallon Igloo cooler. The 22 XS has a wide console giving buyers the ability to add a Simrad 7” or 9” screen or dual Simrad 9” screens.
No doubt buyers will likely want to add the optional pressurized freshwater sink and shower with a 13-gallon holding tank in the console as well as a portable toilet.
The boat comes standard with a leaning post that has flip-up bolsters and buyers can add a canvas or fiberglass hardtop to protect the console. NauticStar includes U-shape seating in the bow and offers a bow table and cushion upgrade.
The 22 XS features a sharp V-hull and air-assist chine, which NauticStar says delivers a high, dry ride and smooth handling. With a 8’6” beam and the boat weighing 3,900 pounds, it can be towed by a small SUV or truck. NauticStar offers the 22 XS with a single outboard from either Yamaha or Mercury Marine up to 250 horsepower.
NauticStar uses no wood in the boat and its composite construction creates a durable hull. The company is so confident in its construction that it offers a limited lifetime hull warranty. NauticStar offers a lot of boat for the money and the 22 XS delivers.
