Bayliner boats started building boats in 1957, and today they produce 23 different inboard and outboard bow riders, deck boats, and center console models from 15 to 23 ft in length. Purchased in the mid 1980’s by the Brunswick Corporation, Bayliner sells boats in over 60 countries and produces and sells more recreational boats annually than any other boat manufacturer in the world.
If you spend a significant amount of time on the water, you have likely heard conversations saying Bayliners are cheaply built low price boats. Well today they are no less expensive than the next entry level boat, but quality wise, that negative moniker no longer applies, and today their quality is on par with mostly every other boat builder in their size and price range.
Fairly new and very popular is Bayliner’s entry level Element M15, a light, compact deck boat that is low maintenance and the perfect small boat for couples or small families, and it comes from the factory as a complete package for the first time or value boater. It arrives on its own trailer, a Mercury 40hp outboard, and all the cushions to seat as many as 5 passengers. Want more horsepower to pull a skier or a tube? A 50hp Mercury outboard upgrade is available for an additional $780.
Yes, the Element M15 cockpit area is small as this is a small deck boat, but the U-shaped seating configuration allows for easy conversation even at planing speeds, while molded in cup holders are strategically placed to control your beverages. The single axle painted trailer is made for small garages and its swing away tongue reduces the overall trailer length to 17 ft 5 inches and the trailers maximum beam of 7 ft 1 inches allows this boat on its trailer to fit in all but the smallest garages.
