At twenty-one and a half feet from bow to stern, the Scout 215 XSF is one of the smaller models in the company’s lineup, but it’s also one of the most versatile. It was designed to be an all-around boat, with spacious and comfortable seat-ing space forward, and serious fishing amenities in the aft. Dividing the two spaces is a large center console with an enclosed compartment and an optional head.
The bow seating area features wraparound benches, with ample storage below. The center cushion lifts to reveal access to the anchor locker. Both side benches have large compartments underneath. A removable teak table sits on a pedestal in the center and stows in under the forward-facing lounger. The lounger’s armrests are built into the available T-top, making this spot the most comfortable place on the boat.
The helm is equipped with hydraulic tilt steering, plenty of space to flush-mount electronics, cup holders and a glove compartment with a built-in USB charging port. The molded footrest adds comfort and stability when running, and the high windscreen offers added protection from the elements. The leaning post is a dual seat setup, with independent flip down bolsters.
There are four vertical rod holders integrated into the back of the leaning post, above the included Igloo cooler. Along with the four rocket launchers on the aft of the hardtop, these mark the start of the business end of the Scout 215 XSF.
Padded bolsters run down each side of the cockpit. The baitwell is located on the port side of the transom. Additional rod holders, and more cup holders, are built into the transom. The available aft bench folds out of the way, keeping the cockpit clear for fishing.
The 215 XSF is rated for up to 200 horsepower for more performance. With max power and a light load, this Scout hits plane in 4.5 seconds and tops out just over 48 mph.
