Avalon Pontoons based out of Alma, Michigan, has been building pontoons for forty years and today the company offers eight different lines. All components for their pontoons are built in-house, from the tubes to the furniture and everything in between, nothing is subcontracted out, which allows them to control quality to the finest degree.  The Catalina Quad Lounge is the most spacious of the Catalina Platinum line and is available in 25 or 27 foot lengths, in twin or triple tubes. As the name suggests, it’s a true sunbathers’ paradise. Two aft and two forward sofas, with sunlounger seat backs, let you catch some rays regardless of which direction the Captain is headed.  The twin Captain’s and co-pilot chairs located amidships bracket the design which features a centreline access gate at both the bow and the stern. We like the “better-than-teak” swim platform, and we’d for sure add the ski tow bar, if not the collapsible sports tower, and at 27 feet opt for the maximum 150hp outboard on the standard edition – although the Waveglider package raising the max horsepower to 400 is intriguing.  All Avalon models come with a lifetime structural warranty and a comprehensive 5-year warranty.
