Boat Test #1425

Keeping your options open

The all new Formula 350 CBR has sleek lines giving it the feeling of speed mixed with sexiness. Everything on the boat is perfectly laid out and assembled with top notch quality. CBR stands for Cross Over Bow Rider which makes this a great day boat with overnighting capabilities.
Probably the most distinctive feature is the cabin. Access to the cabin is easy through the swing-a-way door to the left of the helm and a down three steps. There is a fully enclosed head with sink starboard.  Forward in the cabin is a microwave, sink and stainless steel refrigerator with storage on either side. To the stern is a small seat and large berth with flat screen TV, flanked by his and hers cedar-lined storage cabinets.
The cockpit is nothing less than spacious and provides seating for at least 4-6 adults in the u-shaped seats to the starboard side.  There is a cockpit table and plenty of stainless steel cup holders in the bench.  There is also a plush bench on the port side in front of the wet bar that can hold two adults comfortably, but also has slanted sides to allow a single person to lounge facing aft or forward.   Overhead is the massive fiberglass top with sporty stainless steel rails on either side and the optional Sure Shade.

The port side of the cockpit is home to the large refreshment center and wet bar.  The lids have stainless steel piano hinges and have a stainless steel gas shock to hold them up (great idea!).  Under the hatches you will find a trash can to the left and a sink to the right.  Underneath you’ll find the battery switches, fuel shut off and breakers, and a pull-out drawer-style cockpit refrigerator.
Access to the bow is through the walk through on the port side.  Bow seating pretty much takes up the entire bow area.
The optional filler cushion can be added to create a large play pen or remove the cushions and you have two forward facing seats with arm rests that pull down from the seats.  The gunnels are high, and a wrap-around stainless grab rail provides additional safety and stability for your passengers.  There is also a pedestal table mount in the floor.
There is room for at least three or more adults to soak up some rays on the enormous sunpad, with ample storage underneath. One cool feature that I really like is the flip flop back rests so you can either lie out or lounge in the upright position.
Probably the most impressive part of the boat is the helm.  Two individual flip up bolsters make access a snap.  The dark panel enhances the large white gauges on the left side of the helm.  The optional Raymarine display and Engine control center complete the fight side of the dash.  The joystick control is just above the shifter and in a great spot to provide you access to turn around when backing up the boat.
Astoundingly mounted on the stern are twin 400 Mercury Marine outboards.  The motors are on a custom build motor box that tucks up under the swim platform giving you complete access to the water without having to move around the engines.
The Formula 350 CBR is truly one of the most versatile boats on the water.  From stem to stern, everything about the 350 meets the needs of those looking for a large, spacious and luxurious bowrider with the capabilities of staying overnight and limitless seating.
