If your head turns to take a second look at a pontoon boat going down your lake, it might very well be an Escape by Larson. That’s because Escape’s unique sculpted fiberglass fencing complete with rounded corners and in-gel colours looks more like the finish you’d find on a runabout or a cruiser. The RT 2200 is one of six models in the RT Cruise series from 20 to 24 feet, and features a twin tube design that will accommodate up to 10 passengers. The standard layout, in either Arctic Sky or French Vanilla, features a pair of forward sofas bracketing the forward access gate, a single chair helm station opposite the port side access gate, and an l-shaped sofa to port opposite the starboard side aft access gate to the swim platform. The optional layout adds an aft-facing sunlounger recliner seat back to the l-shaped sofa that makes a great seat for whoever accepts the ‘spotter’ title that day. The list of standard features is impressive, options I would add include the Turboswing ski tow bar and the fully enclosed bow door for our cooler Canadian extended boating season. You can choose to power your RT 2000 with up to a 135hp outboard from Evinrude, Mercury, Suzuki or Yamaha.
