The MirroCraft Dual Impact can easily be a high performance ski boat or a full-feature fish boat.
Mirro Aluminum Company of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, first started manufacturing aluminum fishing boats back in 1956. Today, part of the MirroCraft lineup includes the Dual Impact series, which features two models: The 1766 and the larger 1866.
As the Dual Impact name implies, these MirroCraft models are the ‘quick change artists’ of the lineup. These models easily convert from a high performance ski boat, to a full-feature fishing boat. With a LOA of just over 18 feet, the 1866 model features an 8’ 1” beam. It has a maximum capacity of 8 persons or 1,900 lbs.

Up at the bow, the 1866 features a seating area that can turn into a casting deck, complete with seat base for either a pedestal seat, or an optional ‘butt seat’. There is ample storage in two large lockers. A Deluxe Bow Panel featuring controls and gauges for the optional trolling motor is also available.
Moving aft through the walk-thru windshield, the cockpit features large centre floor storage, and standard swivel / sliding seats for the passenger and operator. Under the port gunnel, you’ll also find a large rod storage locker. The helm features a fiberglass – not moulded plastic – dash panel. You can opt for a standard steering wheel, or an upgraded tilt version.
Back aft, passengers will enjoy the comfort of a large bench seat. When it’s time to pull out the fishing gear, this area also coverts to a large casting deck complete with a seat base. There is also a 97 quart aerated livewell. Water sport enthusiasts will appreciate the ski pylon.
Depending on your dealer, a variety of engine packages are available, and the hull is rated for a maximum of 200 hp. Whether you’re fishing, skiing, or just spending a lazy day on the water, the MirroCraft Dual Impact 1866 is versatile and functional enough to keep the whole family entertained. By Mike Burns
