2020 Model
Since we have very little information on Monterey’s line-up for 2021, here’s a glimpes of this 2020 model.
Larger outboard-powered yachts are becoming more of the norm nowadays, and Monterey Yachts is certainly keeping up with this trend, if not perhaps leading it. Technological advances to increase horsepower, better emissions control, and ease of maintenance are just a few of the reasons that boat manufacturers are going this engine-outside-the-boat route. The Florida based builder recently introduced a new model to their outboard powered line-up, the Monterey 345 SY.
One of the big advantages of outboard power is that liveaboard space on the boat can be amplified. The Monterey 345 SY makes excellent use of the space available to provide comfort and convenience.
Monterey’s impressive ‘Build-a-Boat’ feature on their company website certainly helps expedite the boat buying process. Once you choose the model you’re interested in, customers have the option of choosing a variety of hull, deck, accent stripe, and even bottom colours. Combinations are almost endless, and this feature allows you to instantly see your choices on screen.
Once you’ve chosen your own unique hull colour design, it’s on to the engines. For the 345 SY, Monterey offers up a choice of either 600hp or 700hp Mercury outboard options, available in either black or white. You can also opt for the Mercury’s Axis Joystick feature, which allows for ease of control within the confines of the marina, and Mercury’s optional Active Trim automatically allows for optimal engine trim. With its elegant and sleek styling, the 345 SY is sure to be a hit for those looking for a mid-sized outboard powered cruiser.
