Regal Boats, founded in 1969, now build a variety of gorgeous yachts, express cruisers and sports activity vessels, but for this brief update on the company, lets focus on their bow-riders. When it comes to bow riders, Regal is king. Whether your preference is outboard or sterndrive power, Regal has a bowrider for you. In fact, they offer bow riders in twenty-three different styles and models. For this review I chose the new 2021, outboard powered 23O BX.
Spacious seating for twelve can be found in the 23OBX from the bow all the way to the transom. Combine this with a Yamaha 200 outboard, (or optional 250), and the 23 OBX brings together versatility, performance and luxury, all in one clean package. Check these exceptional features: Rear facing transom seats, a multi-position lounge at the transom, a premium entertainment center, docking lights, aluminum folding wakeboard tower, cruise assist, rod holders, transom cooler, bow plate with lifting eye, six speaker stereo, trash receptacle, dual batteries, hydraulic steering, Garmin 7607, a full-sized head or dry storage compartment, and composite stringer construction with a lifetime warranty. Every boater will appreciate these items, yet they are not often found in other boats in this price range. In addition, Regal pride themselves on fit and finish that addresses even the small details, such as cupboard and hatch doors being finished on both sides.
On the water, the 23 OBX continues to impress. You will find a smooth ride in most conditions along with the ability to safely handle big water. The hull incorporates a company designed stepped and ventilated hull. Such ride improvements are not commonly found in other twenty-three-foot boats. With the 250 horsepower outboard, the 23 OBX delivers a top GPS speed of over 55 mph. Make the comparisons yourself and you’ll discover that you can’t go wrong with a Regal.
