Rinker Boats all-new for 2019 29QX model comes in two configurations –bow rider or cuddy cabin. With a 9’ 1” beam it certainly has the beam to accommodate everything this boat packs into its’ 29’ 2” length. The integrated swim platform features a concealed swimladder to port, folding cleats and two rear-facing lounge seats that are perfect for water sports prep, with storage underneath. There is a speaker and a small table beside each seat with a nice rim to prevent your sunscreen from rolling off. I like the centre-access walk thru to the cockpit, a removable filler cushion creates a generous sunpad.
The cockpit features a full fiberglass liner and a unique layout: a u-shaped lounge, with amply-padded backrests, wraps around the stern and forward up both sides, with a table base in the floor. Twin low-back bucket seats complete the cockpit seating. There’s an entertainment console behind the captain’s seat with freshwater sink, trash bin and storage. Rinker claims the 29QX bow rider offers the most storage in its’ class, and that’s a very believable claim with storage places everywhere including a generous size locker in front of the helm under the windshield – opposite the enclosed head that’s forward of the companion seat.
Moving forward, the generous bow area features wrap around seats and well-padded backrests, stainless and padded grab rails. The bow anchor locker hides a reboarding ladder. Your choice of grey or beige interior includes colour-matched chilewich flooring, marine mat and supple upholstery. Overhead you’ll find a fiberglass forward-arching tow tower. With a deadrise of 20 degrees, and power in your choice of a Mercury 6.2L 300hp sterndrive with a Bravo 3, or Volvo’s 5.3L 300hp sterndrive with Duo Prop, there’s plenty of power to entertain all your guests, tow tubes or the most accomplished slalom skier.
