Power Boating Canada Magazine was in the heart of the Muskokas, testing the 198 CC Adventure from Tidewater Boats. These boats are wider from chine to chine, eliminating a large bow ride and allowing the boat to perform with a variety of HP. The 198 CC Adventure, in particular, has a dry weight of 1,950 lb and a fuel capacity of 56 gals. Its hull is built with a corrugated vertebra for longer surface plane and lower plane speed, and the model contains a 150 Mercury Outboard FourStroke motor.
The 198 CC Adventure offers a hydraulic and stepback bracket; the helm, meanwhile, comes with a lockable compartment ideal for your cellphone, car keys, and other important items. You’ll also find LED cockpit interior lights and standard, easy-to-read gauges for such measurements as RPM, fuel, and MPH as well as push button controls for the horn, livewell, washdown, and bilge.
Enjoy hydraulic steering and Lenco bow control switches plus an auxiliary plug, standard throttle, and standard inserted key for turning the boat on and off. AM/FM JL Audio controls mounted on the helm manage the sound on your 4”, surround sound speakers located around the boat. The helm also contains two stainless-steel cupholders.
Stretch out your legs with forward bow seating or hold on to aluminum grip rails for additional safety. The 198 CC Adventure offers a bimini in standard white paint with 18-25 ML gel as well as UV inhibitors and enhanced dye for durability. The bimini is securely fastened to the deck; it stands 8’4” and offers a laced up, Sahara canvas top.
Enjoy fishing? This model comes with thirteen rod holders. It also contains a a deluxe dropdown leaning post with backrest and five mounted fishing rod holders. These features are excellent for trolling with the big-game fish. Enjoy waterskiing? The 198 CC Adventure offers an aluminum tow bar for watersports. Regardless of your purpose, have a safe ride on the water wish the spray relief point wrap-around fair windshield that is designed back to the aft.
Tidewater offers multiple options on a two-colour interior: choose between the Sahara, two-tone brown or the optional white. When all these features fatigue you, take a rest on the snap cushion seating – with detailed stitching – and use the storage compartment to stow your gear.
On the water, the 198 CC Adventure’s 150 Mercury Outboard FourStroke provided all necessary thrust and power. The boat handled well throughout its turns, providing acceleration on the chop of the water and on the smooth glass of the lake. This model is an excellent boat for any fishing enthusiast, providing speed to get to your favourite fishing holes. Take note, though, that the 198 CC Adventure is also a great boat for taking the family out on a nice run of the lake.
It has a 19”, three-blade propeller, 45 MPH cruising speed, and time on plane of three seconds with tabs and four seconds without tabs.
