Two great family bowriders

Boat Test #1376Larson 190LXH qr

Larson says that the 190 LXH is a “fresh model (that) is the result of listening to what boaters want and delivering the seating, storage, security and sophistication they desire.”
The 190’s hull is entirely wood free, built with Larson’s exclusive closed mold VEC® Tech Construction. Basically it`s a vacuum mold, inside which an exothermic reaction takes place, and the result when the mold is opened is a true, flawless, one-piece hull with a composite stringer system and flotation chambers built right in.  A VEC hull is lighter and stronger than the competition.  The gel coat, and the overall fit and finish that you`ll find on a VEC hull is of an automotive quality every single time.  Your 190 LXH will never rot, so it`s a legacy you can pass onto the next generation.
Layout wise, the cockpit features a nearly full beam stern bench edged slightly to port so there’s room for the starboard side walk-over transom.  This leaves room for a large sunpad over the engine.  An integrated swim platform with four-step folding ladder completes the stern.

Amidships, you’ll find twin high-back bucket seats with armrests that both swivel and recline for maximum versatility whether you’re cruising, enjoying water sports or relaxing at anchor with friends over a floating lunch rendezvous.  The bow area carries the full beam well forward thanks to the pickle-fork design and there’s plenty of room for two adults to stretch their legs forward and rest their arm on the flip down armrest.  A re-boarding ladder and anchor storage compartment complete the bow.
Yet, it’s the little things that Larson adds in that make such a difference.  You`ll quickly notice the single curved glass of the windscreen so there`s no visual interference at the corners. When you sit up in the bow seats you`ll notice the full upholstery wraps all around the outsides of the hull to protect your legs and knees. From an in-gel boot-stripe in four colour choices, to the stainless cup holders, stainless grab handles and stainless speaker grills, right down to the painted 4,000 pound trailer with disc brakes and the five-to-life warranty, no corners have been cut.  Top drawer materials and workmanship all the way is what you`ll find in a Larson.  Hey, with competition what it is, how else can a company stay in business for over 100 years unless they build a great product.
Options available on the 190 LXH IO include a galvanized trailer, a wakeboard tower and a premium sound package with Polk audio with remote, four lighted speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer.
Power wise, 190 LXH IO buyers can choose from one of six Mercury sterndrive options from 180hp up to 250hp. If an outboard is your choice, the sistership 190 LXH OB is available in the very same configuration – except the sunpad is eliminated over the inboard engine – with power options up to a single 200hp outboard.
